CHARLESTON, S.C. -- A proposed master plan for the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant includes a building that museum officials envision as the Boeing Pavilion.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports that Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette says the building could be a place where Boeing welcomes dignitaries and holds conferences.
It's part of a plan for new exhibits, condominiums and restaurants at the attraction that features the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.
However, nobody told Boeing about it. Boeing spokeswoman Candy Eslinger says the company wasn't contacted and she couldn't discuss the proposal.
Boeing is building a $750 million aircraft assembly plant in North Charleston - the largest industrial investment in state history.
