SC aquarium shows visitors its turtle hospital

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Every dog has its day and, at least on Saturday, every turtle does as well.

Saturday is World Turtle Day and the occasion is being marked at the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston. Aquarium visitors will be able to view sea turtles, salt marsh turtles and fresh water turtles during their visit.

For an additional fee, the aquarium also is offering tours of its sea turtle hospital. Aquarium staffers and representatives of the state Department of Natural Resources will tell visitors tales of sea turtle rescues and how the turtles were nursed back to health in the hospital.
