CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Reports Monday confirm that the Charleston Symphony Orchestra has canceled the rest of its season.

This is the first time in the orchestra's 75-year history that operations had to be canceled due to financial problems.

Board President Ted Legasey said symphony management will reduce staff and develop a restructuring plan in hopes that bankruptcy can be avoided.

Ticket holders are being asked to donate the cost of the canceled tickets to the organization.
