CHARLESTON, S.C. -- A health center designed just for teenagers in the South Carolina Lowcountry is holding an open house.

The open house is scheduled for Thursday at The Point on Johns Island. The center is a partnership between the state Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Communities in Schools program.

The back-to-school open house includes music, prizes as well as information on resources to help teens.

Stephanie Friesner, DHEC's family planning services program manager for Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties, says the idea is to help teens have fun and learn to be healthy at the same time.
