Through March 31, the city of Charleston invites Georgia residents to visit with specially priced packages that start from just $69 per night. Each of the participating properties offers something special in addition to a low nightly rate such as museum tickets, a local tour, an in-room movie or breakfast.

A more upscale package might appeal to couples hoping to finally visit Charleston during the Spoleto Festival - a performing arts festival which will run from May 28-June 13. The annual event showcases more than 120 performances of jazzy, classical music, theater, dance and opera. http://www.spoletousa.org

The French Quarter Inn offers a "Spoleto Theatre" package that will give guests a taste of everything.

The two-night package includes Deluxe accommodations; two tickets to This is What Happens Next (June 1, 3, 5 or 6); a three-course dinner including a bottle of house wine at Tristan; two tickets for a group carriage ride through historic Charleston; champagne and lady fingers upon check-in; an afternoon wine and cheese reception; freshly baked cookies and milk in the evening; evening turndown service and breakfast delivered to the room each morning.
